The PhD School of Logistics is taking place for the 9th time this year. However, this year it is not being offered as a summer school, but as a winter school. From December 2 to 6, up to 40 doctoral students and 9 international scientists will dive deeper into the topic of “Predictive Logistics”. The focus will be on machine learning methods for forecasting and business analytics.

What makes the concept of the PhD School of Logistics so unique is the mixture of science and methods with practice and application. In the live case study, theoretical knowledge is directly transferred and tested on the basis of a specific company example. Work is carried out in interdisciplinary groups and, of course, there is also an award ceremony to select the winning team. The program is rounded off with plenty of time for networking over good Westphalian home cooking, Christmas traditions and surprises, as well as the conference dinner.
This year’s Winter School is being offered in cooperation with MachineLearnAthon, an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership program funded by the European Union.
